Mr.
Nick Pasternak was an employee of the McIntyre Company store. He was the first
man in McIntyre to sign up for the army in 1941. Nick and his brothers, Charles
and Frank Pasternak, all served in World War II. Frank received the Silver Star for heroic action in the Japanese theatre. Charles served in the Navy in
the same theatre.
