Home of a Coal Company Official
The
homes of coal company managers and officials usually had more and better
amenities than the homes of the coal miners. This home, circa 1923, was probably
built by the Hyde-Murphy Company of
Ridgway, Pennsylvania. This company built many of the houses in McIntyre and
other coal towns for the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company.
